We completely missed it two weeks ago, Rare, the developer of Sea of Thieveslaunched an unprecedented event in the game – and around the game. Titled The Hoarder’s Hunt, it is a treasure hunt, combining IRL investigation and in-game research. Launched on May 11, there are still two weeks left for budding Balthazar Lockwoods to find the clues that will lead to the collector’s golden skull, a very tangible reward, but frankly questionable taste. The developers promise us puzzles renewed every week, which, once successful, will give access to an exclusive hunt on the seas of Sea of Thieves.
The principle is quite nice, let’s hope that everyone remains fair play, and that the organizing team has really secured their event. Other prizes than the ugly skull are planned for the less “lucky” pirates: silver keys or medallions. For those who are even less good, there will also be plenty of titles and cosmetics to apply to your character in the game.
