Seat has encrypted between 2,500 and 2,800 jobs d’surplus derived from the transformation of the company into electrificationin the framework of the fourth meeting of the 20th collective agreement.
In a statement from management sent to workers’ representatives, the company explained that some 1.800 jobs would be direct i 1.000, indirect.
The surplus is justified because to make one electric vehicle one is required 30% less hours compared to a combustion car, and also because it will have to adapt the structure to ensure a sustainable business model.
The company has explained that there is still no final decision for the electric motor and has assured that, although it is not manufactured in the Prat de Llobregat (Barcelona)is working to find “alternative solutions”.
He also stressed that the salary remuneration is between a 15% and 25% above average of the sector, and that the implementation of the proposals included in the union platform would increase the cost of a 25 and 30%. “We will continue the dialogue with the unions to reach an agreement that favors us all, guaranteeing a framework of stability that favors the competitiveness of the company,” added the automaker.
