Seattle Mariners’ Bryce Miller Returns Strong and Secures Victory over Detroit Tigers

SEATTLE — Bryce Miller pitched five strong innings in his return from injury, Cal Raleigh hit his 12th home run and the Seattle Mariners avoided a three-game sweep with a 2-0 victory over the Detroit Tigers on Sunday.

Seattle was back at .500 with 70 games to go in the regular season, but it was a disappointing weekend following the All-Star break in Seattle.

Miller had been out since his June 30 start once morest Tampa Bay with a blister on the middle finger of his throwing hand.

For the Mariners, the Dominicans Julio Rodríguez 4-1, Teoscar Hernández 4-0. The Venezuelan Eugenio Suárez of 2-0.
