Members of the Second Marquetalia reported this Sunday that Iván Márquez is alive and in good health, despite having suffered an attack on Sunday, June 30: they blame the Colombian army and police commandos.
“We address the Colombian people and the international community to report that: on June 30, 2022, Commander Iván Márquez, a man committed to peace in Colombia, was the victim of a criminal attack directed from the army barracks and the Police commandos”, says the text.
“Fortunately he was unharmed, he only suffered minor injuries and is in good health. From his combat trench he will continue the struggle of ideas for a new Colombia”.
In their words, they have no doubt that the CIA, DEA and Iván Duque are behind the “terrorist” act and they emphasize that it is the same “modus operandi” that they used to kill Paisa, Romaña, Gentil Duarte and Santrich.
“Duque and his government not only destroyed the Havana agreements, they also dedicated themselves to exporting mercenaries to kill leaders in different parts of the world. Just as it was a command of mercenaries directed from Colombia, all of them retired soldiers, supposedly.
“Their faithful allies are the media: Caracol Radio, Caracol TV, RCN Radio, RCN TV, El Tiempo, El Espectador and SEMANA. These news agencies are information mercenaries. They demonize those who think differently and deify their masters”, they add and finish “there will be no peace and reconciliation, as long as the information media are at the service of the rich and the war machines, they are the ones in charge of exacerbating hatred and war among Colombians.
Alive or dead
According to information to which El Tiempo had access, Luciano Marín, alias Iván Márquez, head of the Farc dissidence ‘Segunda Marquetalia’, survived the attack against him perpetrated in Apure and is in an intensive care unit in Caracas.
“High-ranking Colombian intelligence sources confirmed to the media that the information collected in the territory of the neighboring country indicates that the former commander of the Farc, who betrayed the peace process, is seriously injured and was transferred to Caracas, where he receives medical attention in a hospital center. Those same sources assure that he is in an intensive care unit », he points out in his website, a report from last Wednesday.
On July 2, El Tiempo reported on the attack against Márquez’s camp and announced that the government of Iván Duque was seeking to verify versions according to which he was dead, the same ones that have been denied. “According to the sources, he survived the attack that his enemies launched on June 29, but he was seriously injured.”
They add that Márquez was with his sentimental partner, his confidant ‘Iván Ali’ and a security ring of about 20 men when they were surprised.
