Security of Valle deputies intensified due to threat of kidnapping

An alert issued by military intelligence about a possible kidnapping intention against deputies from Valle del Cauca has triggered a coordinated response by security forces to protect them.

The governor of Valle del Cauca, Dilian Francisca Toro, highlighted the importance of military intelligence when anticipating possible threats. In an extraordinary security council, the alert was discussed and preventive actions were planned.

The Valle Police, led by Colonel Giovanni Cristancho, has implemented additional security measures.

Major General Erik Rodríguez Aparicio, commander of the Army’s Joint Command No. 2, highlighted the coordination between security institutions and department authorities to address the situation.
