See the capillary ointments released by Anvisa | metropolises

Anvisa launched, this Friday (14/04), a portal that allows the public to consult which hair ointments are allowed to be sold in Brazil. In February, the circulation of these products had been banned throughout the national territory following at least 780 cases of intoxication following use were reported.

Although Anvisa allowed the ointments to return to the market at the end of March, the restrictions imposed on the preparation of the formula left many people confused as to which products were appropriate for use or not.

Now with the list published by Anvisaand which will be updated periodically, the public will be able to consult which ointments for braiding, styling or fixing hair are authorized.

See the list always

The National Health Surveillance Agency advised, in press release published this Friday (04/14), that ointment users get used to consulting the list whenever they want to buy or use a product they already have at home.

“It is important to highlight that cosmetic products can often have similar or even almost identical names. Thus, users must check not only the brand of the product, but also the CNPJ number of the company that owns the product”, guides Anvisa.

To be approved by Anvisa, the ointments can contain a maximum of 20% concentration of the chemical product Ceteareth-20. The substance that gives creamy consistency to the products is the main suspect for the significant increase in eye poisoning among users.
