Leo Matheo Pozos, a 14-year-old teenager, was killed last Thursday night while he was jogging with a friend along provincial route 29 and the access to the Buenos Aires town of Jeppener, in the Brandsen district. A 4×4 truck hit him, dragged him approximately ten meters and fled.

Two days after the incident, a 52-year-old man was arrested this Saturday, accused of being the driver who hit the boy, police sources informed Infobae.
The arrest occurred as part of three raids. The first was at a home in San Francisco Solano and was negative. The second took place in a home in Quilmes Oeste: there they detained the suspect, who was identified as Carlos Marcelo De Felippe.

In that search, the detainee’s cell phone, green ID card and an ignition key from his vehicle were also seized.
The last procedure took place in the town of Altamirano, where investigators found the white Toyota Hilux truck identified by investigators as the one that hit Pozos.
The investigation of the case is in the hands of prosecutor Mariana Albisu, from the Brandsen Decentralized Instruction Functional Unit of the Judicial Department of La Plata, who upon receiving the file ordered the analysis of security cameras in the area and the taking of testimonies from Jeppener’s neighbors looking for clues.
At the time of being hit, the minor was accompanied by a friend, who was the one who called an ambulance. When medical personnel arrived, the victim no longer had vital signs. In this context, he was urgently transferred to the Francisco Caram Municipal Hospital, where his death was reported.
