Segi P&C (CEO Bong-Hoon Lee), an official importer of Lycopentax in Korea, announced that it has unveiled the HD PENTAX-D FA MACRO 100mm F2.8ED AW as a new lens series of Pentax.
A major feature of this product is that it provides a clear and high-quality image through optimization of resolution and contrast even at an open aperture by applying the latest optical design technology. In addition, the AW (All Weather) mark is attached for the first time on a PENTAX macro lens, and in addition to the basic black model, a silver model will be released with a limited edition of 300 worldwide.
The HD PENTAX-D FA MACRO 100mm F2.8ED AW incorporates one ED (extra-low dispersion) glass optical element and two anomalous dispersion glass optical elements to reduce various chromatic aberrations and minimize unwanted purple fringe.
An advanced multi-layer HD (High Definition) coating that lowers the average reflectance of the visible spectrum by less than 50% compared to previous models, combined with an innovative FREE (Fixed Rear Element Extension) focusing system. This minimizes flare and ghost image generation over the entire focus range, from minimum focal length to infinity, resulting in sharp, high-quality images. In addition, in order to realize a dramatic and detailed close-up image, it is possible to shoot at the same angle when shooting at the shortest distance.
In preparation for various outdoor shooting conditions, this lens is the first PENTAX macro lens to have an AW (All Weather) structure for dust and weather resistance. When mounted on a dust- and weather-resistant PENTAX DSLR camera body, it exhibits excellent performance in difficult shooting such as rain, fog, or places prone to splashing water, making it possible to implement a reliable and stable system.
This lens is meticulously machined from high-quality aluminum for a more attractive and stylish appearance. The focus ring applies Pentax’s original quick-shift focus system to instantly switch AF to MF after focusing on a subject with the camera’s AF system, providing greatly improved convenience.
