Selidove: what is known about the situation
“They write from Ukraine that Syrskyi banned any information about the losses in Selidovo, where ours hit hard. There, the Armed Forces were preparing for Avdiyivka. They write about one and a half thousand people,” propagandist Margarita Simonyan wrote on her channel.
Russian media outlets in Donbas write that there were allegedly two strikes by “Iskanders” on the firing range in Selidovo: the first at 11:30 with cluster munitions, the second one an hour later, when the mass evacuation of the survivors began. The Russians also write that the blow fell on the 3rd Assault Brigade, which was supposed to leave for the blockade of the Avdiyiv garrison. Apparently, the SBU has completely blocked the city for entry and exit, there are many ambulances and bodies near the training ground. The Russians did not provide any photo or video confirmation.
In Ukraine, they have already had time to react to the Russian “news”. “Russian propagandists have launched a disinformation campaign about the alleged losses of the Defense Forces of Ukraine near Selidov in Donetsk region. This is the Russian IPSO. In this way, the enemy diverts attention from its daily colossal losses in the Tavria direction. They amounted to 645 people only in the day of February 12, and in the previous week ( from February 5 to February 11) – 2,947 people,” said the commander of the operational-strategic group of troops “Tavria” Oleksandr Tarnavskyi.
He added that the occupiers were shelling the region: at approximately 10:40 a.m. on February 13, 2024, Russian troops struck the village of Tsukuryne in the Pokrovsky district with a Uragan surface-to-air missile. “Employees of the State Emergency Service inspected the area and found that as a result of the shelling, 2 multi-apartment two-story residential buildings on Svitla Street and a car were damaged. There were no casualties or deaths,” Tarnavskyi wrote.
Shelling of Selidovoy on February 12: a grandmother and two grandchildren were injured
Yesterday, around 00:30, the Russian army fired three S-300 missiles at the private sector of Selidovoy. As a result of the attack, a 63-year-old woman and her two grandsons, aged 10 and 17, were injured, the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office reports. All three ended up in the hospital with mine-explosive injuries and mortal wounds.
The explosions also damaged at least 15 private homes and power lines. The prosecutor’s office has started a pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings for violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Meanwhile, on February 13, employees of the State Emergency Service continued restoration work on apartment buildings damaged as a result of a rocket attack. The humanitarian headquarters of Selidivska MBA provided construction materials and food.
