To train and run artificial intelligence models, Nvidia chips are essential, but perhaps not for long. The Santa Clara company, south of San Francisco, designs graphics chips designed for video games, but which have proven perfect for running these models.
For American business, the rise of generative AI has been incredibly lucrative. The value of its stock has more than tripled in one year; its capitalization now exceeds 1,000 billion dollars. And last quarter, sales of semiconductors used in data centers brought in some $14.5 billion.
