This is the appeal of the President of the Senate, Marcel Niat Njifenji to his colleagues at the close of the session as of right this April 19, 2023.
After eight days of work, the full ordinary session of the Senate ends on April 19 under the background of an invitation to meet the challenges of building a peaceful Cameroon.
In his closing speech, the president of the upper house commits the senators of the 3rd mandate to take up many challenges.
The President of the Senate reminded the entire chamber of one of his missions. “Our political duty and our civic commitment are to work, individually and collectively, to build a peaceful, strong Cameroon, proud of its diversity and sure of its destiny,” underlined Marcel Niat Njifenji.
Concerning the roadmap of the Senate for this 3rd legislature, the president indicated that: “the challenges during this new mandate and better than in the past, is to put ourselves at the service of the general interest of our country, in a spirit of frank collaboration between us, without consideration of political chapel”.

New faces of the definitive office
This last day of the full session was marked by the election of the office of the Senate for the legislative year 2023. In the positions of vice-presidents, we note two new faces. The former minister, Robert Nkili replaces Laurent Nkodo and
Geneviève Tjoues gives way to Armande Din Bell. Of the eight secretaries, three are entering the office for the first time. They are senators Gouichingue Sylvestre,
Abba Harouna et Begala Mikel Epse Akono.
After the establishment of the said office, the heads of the 9 general committees of the Senate were also elected on Wednesday.
The President of the Senate closed this session by wishing a happy holiday in advance to the Muslim community which is preparing to celebrate Ramadan.
