Senegalese financier Pathé Dione died on January 12, 2023 in Paris. A figure in finance in the country and on the continent, this doctoral student in economics from the University of La Sorbonne founded the pan-African insurance group Sunu in 1998. He was also the majority shareholder of BICIS bank, the subsidiary of BNP Paribas in Senegal. This personality of African entrepreneurship leaves behind an empire of more than 4,000 employees present in 17 African countries.
