Señor de los Milagros Fourth Procession Routes in Lima

The fourth and penultimate procession of the Señor de los Milagros got underway early on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, departing from the Santuario de las Nazarenas in downtown Lima at 6:00 a. m. to wind through the streets of the Cercado de Lima and Breña. As thousands of faithful accompany the sacred image, transit authorities have implemented extensive rolling road closures and public transport diversions across the capital.

Route of the Fourth Procession and Hospital Tributes

The Cristo Moreno began its lengthy journey by moving down Avenida Tacna, continuing through Avenida Nicolás de Piérola, Jirón Cañete, and Avenida Alfonso Ugarte. Along this stretch, the itinerary includes poignant emotional stops at the Hospital Nacional Docente Madre-Niño San Bartolomé and the Hospital Nacional Arzobispo Loayza to offer blessings and pay homage to patients, medical staff, and families.

Following these hospital visits, the procession advances along Avenida Venezuela, Avenida Bolivia, Jirón Varela, and Avenida Garcilaso de la Vega. From there, the image will travel back up Avenida Tacna to make its eventual return to the Santuario de las Nazarenas. According to La República, the sacred image is expected to re-enter the sanctuary between 3:00 a. m. and 4:00 a. m. on Thursday, October 29, with the 19th crew of the Hermandad handling the final second guardada of the year.

Progressive Street Closures and Traffic Restrictions

To accommodate the massive crowds and the movement of the heavy silver-plated and gold-adorned platform, the Municipality of Lima, through its Gerencia de Movilidad Urbana, initiated progressive street closures starting at 6:00 a. m. on October 28. These restrictions will remain active until 4:00 a. m. on Thursday, October 29. Rather than shutting down the entire route simultaneously, authorities are reopening roadways progressively behind the procession as it advances through the city.

Metropolitano buses running along Avenida Alfonso Ugarte during the closure of Avenida Tacna are stopping at Stations España, Quilca, and Dos de Mayo, while stations at Colmena, Jirón de la Unión, Tacna, and Castilla remain temporarily closed. Meanwhile, the Corredor Azul is routing buses via Avenidas Francisco Pizarro, Caquetá, and Nicolás de Piérola in both directions when the procession occupies Avenida Tacna. Later in the day, as the image shifts to Avenidas Venezuela, Uruguay, and Bolivia, the Corredor Azul transitions its fleet onto Avenidas Óscar R. Benavides and Tingo María. The Corredor Morado is cutting its regular journey short, traveling only as far as the intersection of Jirón Virú and Avenida Prolongación Tacna before turning back toward San Juan de Lurigancho.
