The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed former Test cricketer Azhar Mahmood as the head coach of the Pakistan Men’s Cricket Team for the 5-match T20 series against New Zealand.
In a statement issued by PCB, it was said that the matches of the series will be played from April 18 to 27 in Rawalpindi and Lahore. The Pakistan cricket team for the series will be announced during a press conference in Lahore tomorrow.
Azhar Mahmood has represented Pakistan in 164 international matches, taking 162 wickets and scoring 2,421 runs. Azhar Mahmood has previously served as bowling coach with the Pakistan Men’s Cricket Team from 2016 to 2019.
According to the press release, Wahab Riaz has been appointed as the senior team manager, Muhammad Yousuf will be the batting coach, Saeed Ajmal will continue as the spin bowling coach, he was the bowling coach in the previous tours of Australia and New Zealand.
In the ongoing statement of PCB, it was said that the support staff of the Pakistani team includes Wahab Riaz (Senior Team Manager), Mansoor Rana (Team Manager), Azhar Mehmood (Head Coach), Muhammad Yousuf (Batting Coach), Saeed Ajmal (Spin Bowling Coach), Aftab Khan. (Fielding Coach), Cliff Deacon (Physiotherapist).
Apart from them, Drex Seaman (Strength and Conditioning Coach), Talha Butt (Analyst), Artza Kamil (Security Manager), Raza Kuchlo (Media and Digital Manager), Zain Maqsood (Videographer), Dr. Khurram Sarwar (Dr.) and Mohammad Imran (Messur). ) are also part of the support staff of the national team.
The PCB said that the Pakistan cricket team for the New Zealand series will be announced tomorrow at the media conference room of Gaddafi Stadium at 12:45 PM.
Due to limited space in the media conference room, only reporters and photographers approved by PCB have been invited, the statement said.
It should also be noted that the series of 5 T20 matches between Pakistan and New Zealand will start from April 18, the New Zealand cricket team will leave for Pakistan on April 12.
