A case of theft of 30 oxen affects the family of the late Thiantacounes guide, Serigne Cheikh Béthio Thioune, in particular Serigne Saliou Thioune.
The Serigne shepherd Saliou Thioune was arrested and referred to the Matam prosecutor’s office for stealing 30 oxen worth 10 million FCFA. The case also involves A. Ndiaye, one of the close collaborators of the Thiantacounes guide, Serigne Saliou Thioune.

The next day, he went to the gendarmerie to file a complaint against the two suspects. Arrested by the gendarmes, AN, close to Serigne Saliou Thioune, fled to take refuge in Dakar.
Finally arrested, the two men admit the facts but they hasten to point out that it is their marabout who has not yet always paid the 10 million FCFA. The latest news is that the Thiantacounes guide promised the shepherd to pay him his 10 million FCFA on November 10.
This, after having tried in vain to ask the gendarmes not to initiate legal proceedings against his relatives. The two defendants were referred to the prosecution last Friday.
