A collision involving five vehicles occurred on Zhongdiwai Road in Xinzhuang District, New Taipei City at around 3 pm on the 12th. A car was driving toward the woods and collided with a small truck for unknown reasons. The small truck lost control and overturned into the opposite lane, affecting two other people. A car and a heavy machine were involved, resulting in 1 death and 3 injuries. The exact cause of the accident remains to be clarified.

The New Taipei City Police Department received a report from the public at 4:01 pm on the 12th, saying that a car accident occurred at 13K, Zhongdiwai Road, Xinzhuang District, toward the woods. There were injuries at the scene. Therefore, 6 police officers including the Traffic Squadron and the Xinshu Police Station were immediately assigned to deal with the incident.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a 35-year-old man surnamed Shi drove a 26-year-old woman Chen out in the direction of the woods. Unexpectedly, when passing the accident site, he collided with a minivan driven by a 53-year-old man Chen in the opposite direction for unknown reasons, causing the minivan to roll over to the opposite direction. Lane.
During the rollover process of the pickup truck, in addition to colliding with the car driven by Zhang Nan in the same direction, it also collided with Wang Nan’s car and the motorcycle rider surnamed Lai who were heading towards the woods. In the end, a total of 5 cars were smashed into a ball, and 4 people were injured.

When the ambulance crew arrived at the scene, they found that the 55-year-old passenger surnamed Yan in the pickup truck had no breathing and heartbeat. The driver of the car surnamed Shi, the passenger Ms. Chen, and the motorcycle rider surnamed Lai were also injured. The first three were sent to Banqiao Yadong Hospital for emergency treatment. The heavy-duty rider surnamed Lai was sent to Banqiao Taipei Hospital for treatment.
However, Yan Nan, a passenger in the minivan, was pronounced dead of his injuries at 5:32 pm following receiving emergency treatment at Banqiao Yadong Hospital. Earlier, the police conducted a sobriety test on the driver at the scene and confirmed that the sobriety test value was 0. However, the blood test report of the heavy machine knight surnamed Lai has not yet been released.
The police stated that the accident scene had been surveyed and recorded in accordance with regulations, and the forensic team was notified to collect evidence at the scene. The exact cause of the accident remains to be determined.
