Serious Injury: Cyclist Hit by Car, Driver with Revoked License – Grez-Doiceau Accident

A cyclist was seriously injured following being hit by a car on Wednesday in Grez-Doiceau, we learned on Thursday from the Walloon Brabant prosecutor’s office. The motorist in question was driving while his license had been revoked.

The accident occurred on Wednesday around 3:30 p.m. on the national 25, at the intersection of Chaussée de la Libération, at kilometer marker 15.6. While the cyclist entered the roundregarding and the driver of a truck gave way to him, a car overtook the truck, violently hitting the bicycle.

Born in 1997 and originally from Herzele, East Flanders, the cyclist was seriously injured and taken to hospital. His vital prognosis remained in jeopardy on Thursday noon, specifies the prosecution.

The driver of the car is a Wavrian born in 2003. It appeared that he was, at the time of the accident, disqualified from driving. The individual is already known to the judicial authorities for driving offenses and other facts.
