Servette’s Struggles Continue: Lucerne Seals Third Consecutive Super League Win

2023-09-24 16:29:35

Despite a large number of chances, Servette conceded to Lucerne their third consecutive defeat in the Super League. The Garnet lost 2-0 in Central Switzerland.

Reigning vice-champion, Servette is slowly slipping into crisis. The setback conceded to Lucerne leaves the Genevans on the wrong side of the bar, with only one success in seven league matches. An autogoal from Bolla (7th) and a counter goal from Meyer (18th) allowed the Lucernois to quickly take the advantage.

Servette often dominated (28 shots to 8, including 8 on target once morest 2…) and benefited from numerous clear chances, but was terribly lacking in efficiency and success in the decisive moments. Goalkeeper Loretz also played a commendable match in the Lucerne cage. Garnet coach Weiler will have to quickly correct the situation.
