According to Enrique Cerezo, president of Atlético de Madrid, several Colchoneros fans had to be transported to hospital after an altercation with Bilbao supporters in a bar-restaurant in San Mamés (Bilbao), this Thursday evening.
According to the Madrid leader, some supporters were admitted to hospital with serious injuries. “They were attacked by people from Athletic Bilbao. We come to football to win friends. We cannot allow that,” assured Enrique Cerezo on Spanish television Movistar Plus+.

“It happened in a bar-restaurant, it was serious. They are in the hospital and we are waiting for news. Nobody comes here to kill or die,” concluded the Atlético president.
According to the Cadena Ser and As, a group of ultras from Bilbao attacked a bar-restaurant in which some Madrid supporters were dining. One of the supporters was seriously injured in the head.
During the first leg of this Copa del Rey semi-final, Bilbao won 1-0 on the pitch of Atlético Madrid. This Thursday evening, the Basques led 2-0 at the break and had nine toes in the final. According to the Spanish press, the start of the second half was also delayed due to a medical emergency in the San Mamès stands.
