The commune of Ouandja, located in the Vakaga, has been shaken for a week by indescribable violence, putting the lives of the population in danger. On the night of Monday to Tuesday March 15, 2022, a bloody fight between rebel elements and FACA soldiers, supported by Russian mercenaries in sikikede, a locality in the commune of Ouandja, in the Vakaga prefecture, according to sources of the General Staff of the Central African Armed Forces (FACA). According to the same sources, there were about twenty dead on both sides and multiple fires in shops and homes. We are talking about a general catastrophe. The population is fleeing to Birao, others to Chad. According to the population, the FACA soldiers and their allies are on their way to Birao, capital of the Vakaga prefecture, in the extreme north-east of the Central African Republic.
