Camaiore – Pascal Ackermann won the 11th stage of the Giro d’Italia in a sprint and thus the longest part of the tour at 219 kilometers. The German narrowly relegated Italy’s Jonathan Milan and Britain’s Mark Cavendish to second and third place on Wednesday. Despite a fall, the overall leader is still Welshman Geraint Thomas. Former British Giro winner Tao Geoghegan Hart and Spaniard Oscar Rodriguez were worse off than him. Patrick Konrad finished 55th at the same time as the peloton. In the overall standings, the Bora driver is in 16th place, 8:43 minutes behind the leader.
