The Stade du Senegal will bear the name of the former president, Me Abdoulaye Wade. The infrastructure built by the Turkish company Summa will be called Stade Me Abdoulaye Wade, named after the former Senegalese president from 2000 to 2012. This stadium, at a cost of 155 billion CFA francs, is built on an area of ​​88,000 m2. Its capacity is 50,000 places. German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan are invited to the inauguration ceremony. They will be alongside their counterparts from Rwanda, Paul Kagame, Gambian Adama Barrow, and Liberian, Georges Weah. For the gala match, former foreign football stars including Patrick Mboma, Yaya Touré, Emmanuel Adebayor, Jay-Jay Okotcha, Samuel Etoo, Didier Drogba, Nwankwo Kanu are announced. The latter will face the former Senegalese glories of the round ball like El Hadj Diouf, Kalidou Fadiga, Ferdinand Coly, Moussa Ndiaye, Omar Daf, Aliou Cissé, Salif Diao, Henry Camara, Diomansy Kamara and Tony Sylva.
