E40 closed at Hauts-Sarts towards Brussels

This morning, around 5:45 a.m., a truck carrying straw caught fire on the E40 in Herstal at km 92 towards Brussels. The driver was injured, but his life is not in danger, the federal police told the Belga agency. Two lanes have been neutralized since this morning. The road was closed in Hauts-Sarts from 7 a.m. and is still closed, but at Battice to prevent the queues from getting longer. Traffic is still at a standstill from Battice. The 35 Hauts Sarts access ramp is also closed.

Light vehicles must take the A27 towards Prum, take exit 7 ‘Theux’, the N657 towards the center of Theux, the N62 towards Sprimont, the N30 and then access 43 ‘Beaufays’ from the E25 towards Liège. This route prohibits people over 7.5 T.

For those over 7.5 T, they must exit at exit 8 ‘Spa’ and follow the directions of the police present on the diversion route.
