Severe thunderstorms in Brussels cause traffic jams in the ring

by Alexandra Hartman Editor-in-Chief

Thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rain with hail locally affected the Brussels Ring and the end of the E411 at the end of the day on Monday. This stormy zone is shifting towards Flanders, passing in particular through Louvain. With these weather conditions the risk of aquaplaning is high. Be careful, turn on your headlights, increase your safety distances and adjust your speed. More thundery showers are expected by tonight.

The thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rain with local hail have left Brussels and are currently present in the Province of Antwerp. Rain is reported over West Flanders and eastern Hainaut but no thunderstorms in these regions.
