The Royal Meteorological Institute (IRM) has issued a severe weather warning from 3:00 p.m. Sunday until 9:00 a.m. Monday. The FPS Interior has decided to temporarily activate the free telephone number 1722 reserved for requests for non-emergency intervention by firefighters.

Abundant rains in several parts of the country, sometimes intense, prolonged and possibly stormy are announced. The IRM warning specifically concerns the provinces of Hainaut, Walloon Brabant, East Flanders, Antwerp, Limburg, Flemish Brabant and Brussels.

Because of these forecasts, the FPS Interior therefore temporarily activates number 1722, it indicates on Sunday at midday. β€œIn the event of storm damage and water damage for which you need the assistance of the fire brigade, you can submit a request via the e-counter www.1722.be or call 1722. Only call 112 in life-threatening situations,” he says.

The mercury will be between 17 and 23 degrees this Sunday followingnoon. The weather will be drier and brighter by the sea.
