Muscat: The National Meteorological Center has informed that a low pressure is likely to form in the southeast part of the Arabian Sea. It is expected to become a tropical depression in the next 48 hours. The wind is blowing at a speed of less than 31 km per hour. At present, the depression is 1440 km away from the coast of Oman.

Initial indications are that the tropical depression will move towards Oman and Yemen coasts. This will lead to the appearance of clouds and heavy rain over Al Wusta and Dhofar governorates on Sunday followingnoon, the warning said.

Meanwhile, the Oman Meteorological Center has informed that there is a possibility of heavy rain and wind in various governorates of the country on Wednesday. Rainfall will occur in mountainous areas of South-North Bathina, Dakhiliya, Muscat, Dahira and Sharqiya governorates. 15 to 40 mm of rain may be received at various places. The authorities advised the plaintiffs not to try to cut through and stay away from low places.
