Powerful, deadly and expansive storms wreaked havoc across a vast swath of the country on Tuesday, with tornadoes battering the South near the Gulf Coast and tornado warnings dotting the Carolinas. To the north, the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast are bracing once morest heavy rain and strong winds that led to significant flooding and power outages Tuesday night. On the system’s cold side, to the west and far north, heavy snow is pasting the Great Lakes and interior New England.
