Ciment du Maroc has just appointed Severin Weig as the new general director of the Group. “The board of directors of Ciments du Maroc, meeting on January 4, 2024, under the chairmanship of Mohamed Chaïbi, proceeded with the appointment of Severin Weig as managing director,” indicates Ciments du Maroc in a press release.
Mr. Weig thus replaces Matteo Rozzanigo who informed the board of directors of his resignation, the same source said. The new CEO will take office on February 1, 2024, replacing Mr. Rozzanigo, who will serve as President of the Northeast-North America Region within the Heidelberg Materials Group. Mr. Weig joined the Heidelberg Materials Group in 2012 where he held various positions before becoming Director of Treasury, Insurance and Corporate Risk within the German Group. He was also appointed, in June 2022, as a member of the German government’s Advisory Council on Sustainable Finance. Prior to her current role, Mr. Weig held various positions at multinational investment banks.
