Louise-Andrée Saulnier, sexologist and host, lost her battle once morest cancer, surrounded by her family, Friday, in Quebec.
The sexologist was recognized, among other things, for having hosted two daily programs aimed at sex education in the 1990s and 2000s. She notably hosted the program “Des mots pour le dire”, on TVA, before continuing with the popular show “Sexe et confidences”, broadcast on TQS in 2001.
“I have collaborated with her a few times and have always liked her outspokenness when it comes to sexuality. She was not afraid of words,” columnist Serge Drouin wrote on his Facebook page on Saturday.
A pioneer in the field of sexology in Quebec, Louise-Andrée Saulnier has often collaborated with the media for her demystifying approach to sexuality. She has given numerous conferences throughout the province during her career, in addition to writing books as a writer. And despite all these occupations, she did not stop practicing her job as a sexologist.
Marie Gray, author of the famous “Stories to make you blush”, also offered a touching testimony on social networks. “Louise-Andrée Saulnier was a pioneer, a determining inspiration, a mentor, a formidable soul of incredible generosity and openness. […] She has influenced my writing career phenomenally,” she wrote.
The sexologist is survived by her two daughters, Émilie and Sophie.
