Kochi: SFI state secretary PM Arsho has been arrested in connection with more than 40 criminal cases. Youth Congress state secretary P Shahjahan had lodged a complaint with the Ernakulam North police three months ago after the high court canceled his bail but he was not arrested by the police. Subsequently, a team led by the Ernakulam City Police Commissioner took him into custody and arrested him.
Arsho, who was produced in court after a physical examination, was remanded. His colleagues dressed him in blood and sent him to jail with slogans. It is clear from the video footage that the police are assisting in this. Police are yet to release information about the arrest.
Nizam Nasser, a lawyer from Erattupetta, was charged with attempted murder after he broke into his home at night. The arrested accused was denied bail. The High Court later granted bail with strict conditions. With this, the complainant approached the court citing information that there were more cases against the accused.
He also said that the accused has been released on bail and is committing more crimes. Arsho’s bail was later canceled by the high court while he was the SFI district president. Police later refused to arrest the accused. Meanwhile, the police informed the court that the accused was absconding and would be arrested soon.
Arsho was elected State Secretary at the Malappuram SFI State Conference. Despite attending the meeting full time, police made no arrests. The Youth Congress leader lodged a complaint with the police.
