After the new record of reproductions of this last song, the Colombian star offered a revealing interview to Billboard and hinted that this will not be the last time he vents through music.

“I am still in a period of reflection (…) I am still exorcising some demons. The last thing I have left,” the Barranquilla artist began, who ended up confessing that they asked her to change the lyrics of her song with Bizarrap and she refused.

“I am not a United Nations diplomat; I am an artist and I have every right to develop my emotions. It is my catharsis, it is my therapy, but I also know that it is the therapy of many people; I am a voice for many people,” added Shakira when referring to the viral phenomenon of the BZRP Music Sessions Vol. 53 together with the Argentine producer Bizarrap.

At another time, the Colombian singer explained the message she wanted to give with her song ‘Vacity Cup’ with Manuel Turizo, and pointed out that she appeared dressed as a mermaid since she considers that she sacrificed her world for love and in the end she was paid badly.

“In the video there are real rats around me. Because believe me, I’m still surrounded by rats. But less and less. That’s been a big part of what I’ve been doing this past year: cleaning the house, exterminating the rats,” Shakira confessed.
