Stormy developments, with an avalanche of reactions on the part of the donors of the Folk Art Museum of Patras, are brought by yesterday’s revelations by “P” about the moving-parody of the historical exhibits by… “volunteers of the Municipality of Patras” and without the appropriate specifications for the transfer of museum material.
Already three of the testators, speaking to “Peloponnisos” newspaperexpress the their outrage for the insulting treatment of the Museum’s rare archive and make it clear that they intend to ask the Municipality to return the borrowed exhibits!

According to my file document, my father lent them to you and for a specific purpose… he didn’t give them to anyone… got it?
Students better come here and see them… I reserve all legal rights for the return of the items-tools…
For “some” they may be “old cans” (this was also said) but to me my grandfather’s and father’s tools are family heirlooms that we granted them in good faith, to be used for the “good of the city”… our horror… I’m also waiting for the protocol of receipt of the tools for details…”.

He also contacted “P”. the son of the late hatmaker Dimitris Andrinopoulos, Andreaswho maintained the historic sawmill for 35 years next to the “Pallas” cinema and then in the portico of Kanakari:

When our father died and we closed the sawmill in 1991, various professionals offered us a lot of money to sell the tools and machinery. We preferred to allocate them for the creation of the Folk Art Museum of Patras. And now we find that all this great file has gone out into the street!
My father’s sawmill was the last one operating in the whole of Greece! And it has enormous historical and folkloric value. It is unthinkable that a municipality treats it in this disparaging way!”.
Mr. Andrinopoulos emphasized that he will wait for the developments to decide on his next moves: “We offered it so that the city could see it and not for them to close it in a warehouse. Maybe somewhere else, in another city, if we need to make it available, they will appreciate it more…”.
