Sharjah Media City “Shams” honored the winners of its media and creative competition, which enjoyed large and diverse community participation, within the eighth International Photography Festival “Exposure 2024”, which was held at the Expo Center Sharjah, from February 28 to March 5.

Sharjah Media City “Shams” honored the winners of its media and creative competition, which enjoyed large and diverse community participation, within the eighth International Photography Festival “Exposure 2024”, which was held at the Expo Center Sharjah, from February 28 to March 5.

“Shams” announced that Mona Al Dhaheri won the Best Idea Award, Rashid Abdoun won the Best Story Award, and Sultan Bin Dafoun won the Best Screenplay Award, as part of its main competition, the “Short Film Writing Challenge,” based on an expressive image from the festival’s activities, for which 25 contestants competed. Five participants were also selected to write a short series script.

His Excellency Dr. Khaled Omar Al Midfa, President of Sharjah Media City “Shams”, distributed prizes to the winners at the conclusion of the festival, within the framework of nurturing creative talents that Sharjah Media City “Shams” pursues in stimulating the spirit of innovation and competitiveness, and advancing and enriching the process and objectives of international media festivals.

Al Midfa said: The winners of the “Shams” Awards are a true sample of innovators, stressing the importance of the awards in introducing innovative talents, highlighting them, refining them, and taking care of their development. He pointed out that winning such competitive competitions in international festivals contributes to creating a class of creative and inspiring people, and changing the course of The lives of winners in development, leadership and creative excellence.

On a related level, more than 100 participants benefited from 8 training workshops organized by “Shams” within the festival’s activities, as part of its keenness to repeat such successful experiences, in accordance with its vision to discover the capabilities of creative people and market their media creativity.

The workshops were presented by a number of experts in the field of filmmaking from various countries of the world, such as the United Kingdom, India and the Emirates.
