Two shared electric cars are available to citizens at the corner of rue du Werchai and place Baudouin in the center of Court-St-Etienne. “Originally, we wanted to place them near the station. We did not have an ORES terminal with sufficient power nearby. To avoid incurring significant costs, we installed the cars near a compatible electrical terminal”, indicates Mélanie Laroche, alderman for mobility.
The total cost for the Municipality, connection of terminals included, is €46,500. The Municipality recovers part of the cost of use (€3.99 per hour, €45/day, and €0.27/km). She has 80 hours per month per car for the municipal administration.
Last Tuesday, between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m., the municipality of Court-Saint-Etienne organized a presentation evening, with the collaboration of Frédéric Gago and Jérémy Bourguet, heads of Auto Motors Share, project manager. “The objective is to familiarize those interested with the operation of the vehicles”, continues Mélanie Laroche.

Vehicles are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They can be booked via the “Share Mobility” application. “They can be reserved up to half an hour before the trip, for a maximum of three days unless waived. They have a range of 350 kilometers. The vehicle opens with the application. It unlocks after taking photos of the four sides of the vehicle as an inventory. The inventory is repeated after use”, points out Frédéric Gago.
Delete second car
The population showed interest in the project. “We have an elderly couple, without a car, who intend to use the vehicles for their occasional outings,” continues Mélanie Laroche.
“In the summer, we make our trips by bike. We have two cars. One is used by one of us for work and the children. The other is used to go to work in the winter. We are thinking about removing a car in favor of the shared car, “says a couple.
“There are still small things to adapt. Certain categories of the population are excluded. You already need a smartphone. It seems difficult to use for the elderly, schooling is essential”, points out another Stéphanois.
