Sharjah Council Health Committee Reviews Working Priorities

The Health, Labor, and Social Affairs Committee of the Consultative Council of the Emirate of Sharjah convened its inaugural meeting for the fourth ordinary session of the eleventh legislative term, Sharjah24 reported.

Establishing Priorities for the Health and Social Sectors

The committee reviewed its working priorities for the upcoming phase, focusing on methods to sustain oversight of health and social sectors while elevating community-facing services.

Attendees included committee rapporteur Dr. Hind Saleh Al Hajri, alongside members Mohammed Saleh Al Ali, Issa Abdul Rahim Al Zarooni, Fatima Mohammed Khusouni Al Kutbi, and Khalfan Saif Al Masafri. Representatives from the council’s General Secretariat—including Secretary-General Mira Khalifa Al Muqrab, Abdul Aziz bin Khadim, and Sumaya Jassim Al Hammoudi—also participated in the discussions.

Officials Examine Committee Competencies Across Public Health and Labor

During the meeting, officials examined the committee’s constitutional competencies and responsibilities across public health, labor, and social welfare. Members stressed the necessity of continued study regarding these vital sectors to improve service efficiency, working conditions, and social stability across the emirate.

This continuity relies on executing a comprehensive action plan aligned with the consultative council's strategic directions, ultimately reinforcing its legislative and oversight duties.

Broadening Channels With Stakeholders

The committee intends to widen communication channels with relevant authorities and various societal segments during the current session. Lawmakers aim to identify actual needs and challenges within health, labor, and social care, translating findings into actionable recommendations and proposals.

These measures support the Sharjah government’s ongoing drive to enhance public services and elevate overall quality of life. The session concluded with an exchange of perspectives regarding future initiatives, performance improvement mechanisms, and a review of recommendations carried over from past sessions.
