A quantum leap in the activities and programs of Sharjah Youth affiliated to the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for the Industry of Leaders and Innovators, through its launch of the “Skills Lab” for the second year in a row, which it organizes in the Wasit Youth Center and the Khorfakkan Youth Center, under the slogan “Where skill meets pleasure” within the activities of Your Summer and Yana 2023. With 32 activities, it includes innovative programs that are comprehensive through its various stages that keep pace with the vision of the institution, and contribute to discovering and nurturing emerging talents and creators.
The inauguration of the laboratory at the Wasit Youth Center on Monday witnessed the presence of Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Yasi, Director of Sharjah Youth, Ayman Othman Al Barout, Secretary-General of the Arab Parliament for Children, a number of directors of Sharjah Youth Centers, members of the Arab Parliament for Children in its third session, and affiliates of Sharjah Youth.
The laboratory seeks to establish many goals, most notably providing a suitable environment to meet the interests of young people that contribute to achieving the optimal investment of leisure time, as well as discovering and supporting emerging talents, empowering them and directing them towards excellence, in addition to providing the country with distinguished minds and skilled people in various fields.
The agenda of the Skills Lab was also designed to elevate the capabilities of the people of the Emirate of Sharjah in various sciences, and confirms Rubu’ Qarn Foundation’s endeavor to create leaders and innovators to create the best conditions for nurturing and empowering young cadres capable of participating in achieving the comprehensive development of the country in fields that focus on technology, arts and professional disciplines, as it includes 32 An event characterized by richness and diversity and falls under seven axes, which are the plastic arts lab, Al Nashia studio, and a story in a bottle, in addition to the science and technology lab, the technical and vocational lab, the theater and performance arts lab, and the cinematic arts lab.
Participants in the technical and vocational laboratory learn about automotive mechanics, electrical connections, and architectural maquettes. Youngsters in the theater and performance arts laboratory participate in many workshops related to the basics of theatre, performance and theatrical expression, and theatrical play, as well as creative design in theater, theatrical directing and leadership. As for the arts laboratory cinematic; Participants will experience the basics of cinematic work and learn the arts of photography, addition and sound, in addition to acquiring the skills of making cinematic montage.
Drones fly in the sky of the Science and Technology Laboratory, which participants control from within the laboratory to practice FPV drone racing. The laboratory also includes many distinguished technical programs, including the electronic chip program and the scientific experiments program, in addition to the design program that includes plastic vehicles. And 3D printing, as well as learning about the smart farming system, how to make a walkie-talkie, and the water robots program.
Al Nashia Studio works on refining the participants’ skills in preparing and creating digital content, animation, as well as photography and podcast programmes. Participants receive comprehensive explanations about making models, the arts of writing short stories, performance skills and voiceover, in a story-in-a-bottle laboratory.
As for the plastic arts laboratory, it offers a diverse program in Ebro models, terrarium art and pattern formation, in addition to resin art, carpet making and mosaic art.
The members of the Arab Parliament for the Child expressed their happiness at what they witnessed of the exceptional events and programs that would qualify children, adolescents and youth to become influential leaders in many fields, especially the scientific and technical fields. They thanked Sharjah Youth for hosting them and giving them the opportunity to explore their talents and skills.
