Shark bites off fisherman’s head in Mexican waters

Mexico City| Shark bites off fisherman’s head in Mexican waters The incident that happened last January 5 in Tobari Bay in the Gulf of California in Mexico is now coming out. Manuel López was diving in the sea to collect molluscs wearing a scuba-like device when the fisherman’s head was bitten off by a fish.

Shark bites to humans are rare. Decapitation is even rarer, said Chris Lowe, director of the shark lab at California State University. Experts said that sharks rarely bite humans and when they do, they mistake them for prey and grab their legs.

But as soon as they realize that this is a person, they give up. Reports say this is the first shark attack in 2023. Last year, a diver was killed by a shark in the same area.
