Following the trend of applications such as Spotify, Spark and MacMagazine (❤️), o Shazam released an update (version 15.38) whose main novelty are widgets for lock screen from iOS/iPadOS 16.
There are, more precisely, two options: a smaller one, with a shortcut that lets you open the app and identify songs directly from the locked screen, and a larger one, displaying the last identified song.
Remember that the Music Recognition feature is still available in the Control Center, which also uses Shazam technology. The widget, however, reduces the number of taps needed to reach the resource, ensuring more agility in the process of activating the function to discover the name of a song.
Recently, Shazam gained another update, which expands its identification capabilities not only for songs being played in the environment, but also in applications and in the device system. The app also supports Apple Music Classical, showing its integration with different music services.
With more than 20 years of existence, the song identification service has a complex system behind it to enable song recognition. In 2018, the service was acquired by Applegaining a series of modifications and making the app more integrated with Apple’s systems.
