Hope Solo, a former US goalkeeper, has sparked a new controversy, as she was arrested on charges of child abuse, drunk driving and resisting arrest.
The accident occurred in a parking lot in Winston, North Carolina, where Solo, who was in her car with her two children, was arrested and taken to Forsyth County Jail for treatment.
If convicted, Hope might go to prison, has been provisionally released, and has never moved out of the home where she lives with her husband, former NFL player Jeramy Stevens, and their twin sons.
Solo has a history of trouble with the law, having been accused of reprimanding a police officer in 2014 and threatening to “kick him in the back”, as well as being arrested for domestic violence with her teenage daughter.
