Foreign news agencies reported from Kuwait City, Kuwait on December 16 that the Kuwait National News Agency (KUNA) published a statement from the Royal Palace that Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber L-Sabah, Ruler of Kuwait, passed away at the age of 86 and reigned for 3 years.
Sheikh Nawaf was born on 25 July 1937 in Kuwait City. He is the son of Sheikh Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah, the 10th Ruler of Kuwait. He became the Crown Prince of Kuwait in 2006.

Sheikh Nawaf ascended the throne as Ruler of the State of Kuwait. or the Emir of Kuwait on September 29, 2020, after the death of Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, his half-brother. At the age of 91, Sheikh Sabah assumed the title of Emir of Kuwait in 2006.
Incidentally, the Kuna News Agency had reported in November that Sheikh Nawaf had received medical treatment at the hospital. “Due to his sudden illness” without giving any more details than that “His condition is stable” after medical treatment was provided.
