Shein Recall: Popular Children’s Item – Stop Use Immediately

by

Shein is recalling its Egyptian Princess Costume, sold via its online marketplace, due to safety concerns, the Irish Sun reported Friday. The recall follows similar actions involving other children’s items sold by the fast-fashion retailer, raising questions about product safety standards.

The recall was prompted by fears of potential choking injuries, according to the report. Specific details regarding the nature of the choking hazard were not immediately available. Shein has not yet issued a public statement detailing the scope of the recall or the number of costumes affected.

This recall is the latest in a series of safety-related issues involving Shein products. In February 2025, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a recall of SHEIN EVRYDAY Kids’ Pajama Sets due to a flammability hazard, violating federal flammability regulations and posing a burn risk to children. The pajamas, made of 97% polyester and 3% elastane, were sold in sizes 8Y through 12Y.

In July 2021, children’s sleepwear sold exclusively by Shein was recalled due to similar flammability violations and burn hazards. The CPSC advised consumers to immediately grab the recalled sleepwear away from children and stop using it. Shein stated they would contact known purchasers.

More recently, in December 2025, Shein Distribution Australia P/L recalled a spinning top toy and keychain due to non-compliance with mandatory safety standards, as reported on Instagram.

In March 2025, Health Canada recalled SHEIN EVRYDAY Kids Pajama Sets due to a flammability hazard. The recall notice specified the pajamas were sold in blue and included a pocket on the top. Consumers were instructed to immediately stop using the pajamas and contact Shein for a full refund.

Shein has not responded to requests for comment regarding the Egyptian Princess Costume recall or the pattern of safety concerns surrounding its products. The company’s website currently lists a “Recalls” section, but details regarding the costume recall were not immediately visible as of Saturday, February 21, 2026.
