Shocking Dashcam Footage of High Speed Accidents at Marquain Motorway Interchange

The images were shot on June 9, at 6:59 p.m., by the dashcam of Olivier Durieux, from Tournai, as he took the exit towards Marquain at the level of the motorway interchange where two dramatic accidents occurred, the July 20 and August 6, which claimed the lives of six people.

The video – which has resurfaced via the networks – shows a car obviously driving at very high speed where it is already limited to 70 km / h after having been limited to 90 km / h a few hundred meters upstream and to pass at 50 km/h before the deadly curve.

“I was really scared, Olivier Durieux told us, I thought he was going to hit my vehicle, but the driver had quite incredible control and was able to stop in the grass a little further, on the side, without touching anything”.

This without the slightest damage to the driver whose health Olivier worried about as he slowed down alongside him.

”The driver told me that he had no problem, so I did not stop because it could have been dangerous for the safety of other users as well…”

Judging by the (numerous) traces left on the concrete safety railings – as we were able to observe when we shot a video on the site – one can imagine that this type of swerve is not uncommon at this location.

Fortunately, not all of them have such dramatic consequences as the two accidents mentioned above. It will be specified that the exact circumstances of these last two facts have not yet been established, these files are still being investigated, as confirmed to us by the Tournai prosecution this Thursday evening.

Another important detail to remember if we judge by certain comments read on the networks, the author of these images did not manipulate the camera while driving, the dashcam (integrated and fixed on the rear view mirror in this case) having the particularity of filming continuously without external intervention.
