a woman named Margaret Francic found something unexpected in her Sausage and Egg McMuffin when she took a bite.
Last Friday, Francic, from Australia, went to a restaurant with his two children. There they chose her favorite dishes for breakfast.
Francic chose a McMuffi. However, when he took a bite of his food, he felt something strange in his throat.
“I thought maybe it was a bit of a boiled egg, but when I swallowed it, it actually scratched my throat,” the woman said, according to the New York Post.
When he examined the sandwich carefully, discovered something strange and shiny green that had been cooked along with the McMuffin bread.
He then quickly turned around and went back to the McDonald’s to show the object to the staff.
“I showed it to the manager and she said, ‘oh, that looks like a worker’s glove,’ which made me feel even worse, because I was imagining the fingers that would have been in it,” the woman said.
As a form of apology, they offered Francic a free meal.but was disappointed by the manager’s apathetic attitude towards a problem that she considered serious and that might affect her health.
Hours later, Francic contacted the McDonald’s offices to complain and sent them photographs showing the piece of green glove inside the bread.
She said another person from McDonald’s contacted her and asked for more photos, which confused her because Francic had already returned the burger at the time of the incident.
“I thought they must have thrown it away,” he said, adding that he sent her other photos anyway.
The woman said her throat was still sore following three days, and she was nervous regarding the effects on her body following eating plastic..
McDonald’s says the incident is still being investigated.
