Shooting in Paris: a man shot dead, a suspect arrested

A man was shot and killed and four others were more lightly injured in a shooting Monday night in Paris, France. A suspect had been arrested, said the Paris police headquarters.

The facts took place around 9:30 p.m., when “two individuals got out of a vehicle and shot two individuals seated at the terrace of a bar”, detailed the prefecture. The hypothesis of a settlement of accounts is favored at this stage.

The second suspect “succeeded in fleeing”, specified the same source. According to the mayor of the 11th arrondissement, François Vauglin, the shooting took place in a ‘shisha bar’.

“The bar customers overpowered one of the two assailants,” added the elected official in a tweet, denouncing a “barbaric act”.
