He National Metereological Service (SMN) issued a very short term alert due to strong storms and hail who arrive during the morning of this Monday for three llocalities of the province of Buenos Airess. Given the danger of the storm it is necessary to take precautions.
The SMN warning is for localities of Ayacucho, Balcarce, General Pueyrredón and Loberialocated on the Buenos Aires coast, and also at Gonzales Chaves and San Cayetano by “strong storms with heavy rain and occasional hail fall.
NMS Recommendations
- Stay in closed buildings such as houses, schools or public buildings.
- Secure objects that can be thrown by the wind.
- Stay away from the trees, since the force of the wind could break some of their branches.
- Stay away from electrical appliances and avoid using corded phones.
- Avoid driving through flooded or affected streets.
- If there is a risk of water entering your home, turn off the power.
- Avoid outdoor activities.
- To minimize the risk of being struck by lightning, do not stay on beaches, rivers, lagoons or pools.
Meteorological alert for a strong heat wave: the provinces where more than 40 degrees are expected
On the other hand, the SMN launched a yellow level alert for high temperatures that will affect the City of Buenos Aires and eight provinces. The heat wave will last at least six days and could be around 40 degrees.
Much of Mendoza, Buenos Aires, La Pampa and San Luis will reach maximum temperatures of 35 degrees. The same will happen in the city of Buenos Aires, the south of Santa Fe, various towns in San Juan and Córdoba, various areas of Neuquén, especially the Andean area, and the departments of Gualeguay and Victoria, in Entre Ríos, according to the weather forecast
