Should the standards for perfluorinated compounds in drinking water sources be reviewed? | Science | News | The gallery

The United States this summer recommended new guidelines for perfluorinated compounds (PFAS) in drinking water sources that are ten thousand times stricter than those in effect in Canada. Is it time to review Canadian standards on these “eternal pollutants”, which are not only toxic, but also ubiquitous in our environments?
