Siforex XIII – 2023: Strengthening Anti-Submarine and Anti-Surface Warfare Capabilities with the United States Navy and Peruvian Navy

The delegations of the United States Navy and the Peruvian Navy have completed the final planning conference of the anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare exercise Siforex XIII – 2023 (Silent Forces Exercise, Ejercicio Fuerzas Silentes). The conference took place on September 13 at the facilities of the Command of the Peruvian Submarine Force (Callao).

Siforex is an exercise that is carried out annually with the objective of strengthening the capacities of the Armed participants in anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare. It also seeks to increase interoperability, cooperation and strengthen crew training. The protagonists of the exercise have been the Peruvian Navy (host); and the United States Navy, an institution that is interested in preserving and improving the skills of its crews to face the silent diesel-electric propulsion submarines.

On this occasion, the planning conferences Siforex XIII – 2023 have been led by the commander of the Submarine Squadron of the Peruvian NavyCaptain Edgar Moreno Cedamanos. There has been the participation of officials from the Squadron Command Destroyers No. 40 and of the Headquarters of Operations of the Submarine Force Command of the United States Navy Atlantic. The commander of the FPeruvian Submarine Forcerear admiral Fernando Castillo Heredia was also present at the event.
