BOUMERDES – Eight (8) cooperation and partnership agreements were signed, Saturday at the “M’hamed Bougara” university in Boumerdes, between the General Union of Algerian Workers (UGTA), through its affiliated union federations, and their counterparts affiliated with the General Union of Workers of Sakia El Hamra and Oued Eddahab.
These agreements were signed during the closing ceremony of the Algerian-Sahrawi trade union solidarity week organized for five days at the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of the University of Boumerdes, under the direction of the representative of the UGTA , Ferhat Chaikh, and the SG of the General Union of Workers of Sakia El Hamra and Oued Eddahab, Salama El-Bachir.
These agreements open up broad prospects for cooperation between the two unions and their affiliated sections (Federations) in the areas of training and the exchange of expertise, experiences, information, visits and the organization of union action and its development in various areas.
The first day of the demonstration saw the signing of a framework partnership and cooperation agreement between the UGTA and the General Union of Workers of Sakia El Hamra and Oued Eddahab, in the presence of officials of the two unions.
The agreements were signed during the closing ceremony between the Federations of Education and Vocational Training Workers of both parties and the Algerian Health Union with the Sahrawi Doctors Union.
A 4th agreement was signed between the Federations of Mining Workers and Engineers, while the 5th was between the Algerian Union of Agro-Food Industries and the Sahrawi Farmers Union. The 6th convention was signed between the Algerian Federation of Information and Communication and the Union of Sahrawi Journalists and Media Professionals.
The 7th and 8th agreements were, respectively, signed between the Federation of Tourism Workers of the UGTA and the Union of Sahrawi Artisans, and the Commission of Working Women of the UGTA and its counterpart of the Women’s Union Sahrawi workers.
