This rain, preceded by a fairly strong wind, fell shortly after 11 p.m. It interested almost all of the 16 rainfall stations monitored by the Podor departmental meteorological service, said Mr. Camara.

It was the Namarel substation, located in the Diéri (livestock farming area), south of the commune of Gamadji Saré, which collected the largest quantity of water, with 41.5 millimeters, followed by Podor with 31 .9, then Thillé Boubacar with 28.0 mm. According to the technician, this rain can be considered as marking the start of wintering in the department of Podor. According to him, the quantities of water collected are favorable for sowing.

Low water levels (1.2 millimetres) were recorded during the very first rain of this winter, which affected a few localities located in the communes of Mbolo Birane, Pété and Galoya, east of the department of Podor .
