Wall Street’s main indexes rose on Friday, with the S&P 500 and Nasdaq poised to post a fourth straight week of gains as bets for another sharp Federal Reserve interest rate hike dwindled after data this week on lower-than-expected inflation.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose at the open 94.05 points, or 0.28 percent, to 33,430.72 points.
The Standard & Poor’s 500 index opened up 17.75 points, or 0.42 percent, to 4,225.02 points, while the Nasdaq Composite Index advanced 86.40 points, or 0.68 percent, to 12866.31 points.
